Medical Microneedling/Scar Camouflage treatments

What is Medical Microneedling?
Microneedling is a natural skin treatment that is designed to soften the appearance of scars and burns. It does not use fillers, injections, lasers, chemical peels or gimmicks and is not Acupuncture. Microneedling focuses on 'kick starting' your skins own repair and renewal process.
How does it work?
The process of Medical Microneedling creates hundreds of microscopic ‘pin pricks’ with the aim of activating the body's own healing process. It is a safe controlled 'injury' to the skin, done in a clean, sterile environment. This activates the wound healing factors in the skin and does what we call collagen induction.
As skin heals, new collagen and elastin is formed. Collagen gives the plump and youthful look we all had as youngsters and this fills in the ‘valleys’ of lines and scars naturally by plumping them from the bottom up without the use of anything artificial. Elastin gives firmness and smoothness, improving the overall appearance of the skin. Burns are also improved by this treatment.
How is it performed and
does it hurt?
Firstly, your skin will be numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream to provide minimal discomfort, if any. Groups of sterile needles will be inserted into the skin using state-of-the-art digital machinery (each client will have their own disposable needles).
How long is the healing process?
Swelling is minimal and the surface (outer) healing occurs within a week to two weeks. The fantastic side benefit is that even with just one treatment, the body is able go on producing collagen and elastin for the next 12 months to further repair the area.
I can treat various scars
Breast scars - scars as a result from surgeries such as a Mastectomy, breast uplift, breast augmentation can be greatly improved in appearance, texture and colour.
Surgical scars – Raised scars may become smoother and flatter with Microneedling. Often the procedure can stimulate melanin production correcting scars with loss of pigmentation ( colour).
Stretch marks – Due to the laxity of stretch marks, Microneedling may be very successful in improving the appearance of loose skin and plumping up the indentations.
Burns and accidents – Sometimes fibrous bands of scar tissue can contract and limit movement. Microneedling may break down the contracted scar tissue to increase flexibility (scar relaxation).
